During the 40th edition of the Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Technical Applications "Caius Iacob", on October 19-20, 2023, organized by the National Institute for Aerospace Research "Elie Carafoli" – INCAS Bucharest (under the aegis of the Romanian Academy and ISMMA – Institute of Mathematical Statistics and Applied Mathematics of the Romanian Academy), the best papers were awarded, doctoral theses, dissertation and bachelor papers, registered in the contests "Caius Iacob", "Tipei" and "Vasilca".
Over 1200 students in grades X, XI and XII, from Buzau County, accompanied by their teachers or parents, participated yesterday in the Student #DJUG Educational Fair, which was organized in the Eurocampus building on Hangarului Street, no. 8, reached its 3rd edition. Faculty representatives came in front of young people with interesting study programs, unique experiments, artistic moments, and an hourly raffle, with prizes offered by Cocorico and My Pencil.
The Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology will organize on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the Open Doors event at "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, dedicated to the Romanian Army Day. The event is organized in collaboration with the 300th Mechanized Infantry Battalion "Sfantul Andrei” and Tomis Cultural Association – Galati branch.

He is an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy since 2011, Doctor Honoris Causa of 18 universities in the world and is among the top 100 most cited in the field of Engineering.
The opening ceremony of the University for Seniors, a pilot project started in 2016 by "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati for seniors, took place today, October 16, at 10:00, in the Amphitheater of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. The courses will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10:00-12:00.
Several dozen pensioners came to the opening, some excited as on the first day of school, even with flowers for teachers, but all happy to have the opportunity to study at a university.
October 16 marks the 77th anniversary since the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Quebec, Canada, since 1945. FAO established in 1979 that October 16 would mark World Food Day. Romania adopted October 16 as the National Day of Food and Food Waste Combat, through Law nr. 47/2016. Today, World Food Day is celebrated in more than 150 countries.

The biennial event has reached its 11th edition. The conference is attended by experts from 18 countries, such as: India, Iran, Poland, France, USA, Spain, Germany, Republic of Moldova, Morocco, Greece, Lithuania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Austria, Ireland, Madagascar, and Romania.
