The second edition of the ACIEE - HACKATHON student competition, organized by Faculty of Automation, Computer sciences, Electronics and Electrical engineering, took place online on December 8-10, 2021. Teamwork, innovative ideas, and problem-based thinking and/or solutions led to the solution of this year's theme of the contest: The creation of a hardware-software system to control the movement of a "pan & tilt" system, with a video camera attached to follow an object (a ping-pong ball) - located in the area of interest.
At the 7th edition, the International Symposium on Electrical and Electronic Engineering - ISEEE 2021 will open at the Faculty of Automation, Computers sciences, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati and will take place during October 28 - 30, 2021. The field of Electrical Engineering was and remains a top field of Engineering, with a great impact on the national economy.

"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, Faculty of Engineering, organizes on Friday, October 29, 2021, the international event to multiply the results obtained within the strategic partnership "STEAM Education and Learning by Robotics, 3D and Mobile Technologies" - FabLab SchoolNet entitled "Introduction to Robotics, 3D Printing, and Mobile Devices. From Design to Production and Exhibition”.
A team of three professors from the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati and one from the "Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, coordinated by Professor Kamel Earar, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Galati, won a series of gold medals at 4 different invention salons. These are the invention salons in London, Toronto, Zagreb, and Warsaw, all held this year.
"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati was represented by the team named CYBER NINJAS in the finals of the 4th edition of Bosch Future Mobility 2021 Competition, organized by Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj. CYBER NINJAS was formed by 3rd-year students: Ghiorghita Gabriel Alexandru, Prunean Raluca Andrada, and Craciun Marian Stelian, from the Faculty of Automation, Computer sciences, Electronics and Electrical engineering, specialization Automation, and Applied Informatics being coordinated by Associate professor Razvan Solea Ph.D.
On 07.10.2021, the REXDAN ship's keel-laying ceremony took place in Giurgiu. On this occasion, "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galați received the "birth certificate" of the ship REXDAN. This will be the biggest research vessel on the European Union's inland waters. The ship will have nine modern laboratories in which teachers and researchers from our university, as well as international researchers, will work.
"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati was also included in the 2022 Edition of The Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2022, in two fields: Engineering (general engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering) and Physical Sciences (mathematics and statistics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, geology, environmental sciences, and earth and marine sciences).
MONITOX interdisciplinary network, composed of: "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati (Lider Partner) and the partner institutions – Institute of Zoology, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova; International Hellenic University, Kavala, Greece; Institute of Geology and Seismology Chisinau, Republic of Moldova and Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development, Tulcea, Romania - organises on 13th of September 2021 the closing seminar of the project with code eMS BSB 27, entitled “Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure prevention” - MONITOX.
The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy within "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galați organizes, from the 1st of September 2021, admission for the undergraduate study program Medicine (in English), with a study period of 6 years. 45 seats will be put up for competition, all for foreign students.
